Six Degrees of Inspiration is proud to recognize International Women’s Day. The achievements, the sacrifices, and the numerous contributions that women from all over the world has bestowed upon society. From ages gone by to the present, they have been the solid pillar of mankind, the cornerstone of our families, and the bright shining inspiration for all men.
But even the advances that we have made in the past decades still leave room for improvement. Women on average receive less pay, the majority of the poor are women, and there is still perceived inequality in all aspects of society.
In Africa, women are still vulnerable to all types of violence including rape, physical abuse, and emotional abuse. Other nations still have to step up when it comes to women’s rights.
In Israel, there is still reports of inequality when it comes to women. There are even reports of girls and women being made to sit at the back of buses.
It may sound that we are at the cusp of a new day, but until that day comes, we should stay vigilant and work for the equality of women all throughout the world.
We salute the first ever Woman Speaker of the House in Nancy Pelosi, we are encouraged at a possible woman president in The United States, we are inspired by women such as Oprah, Meg Whittman, and other businesswomen.
On this day that we celebrate women in history, the women leaders of today, and the everyday woman in general, we hope that you turn to your wife, your mother, and your grandmother, and thank them for all that they have done.
