Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I hope that you are relaxing today, and I hope that you’re not one of the last minute shoppers out there that will be scurrying around the malls, drugstores, and 24 hour gas stations in search for last minute gifts. Let’s relax for a day and prepare for Christmas.
I’d like to take this opportunity today to let everyone know about a very inspiring organization that is helping children, poor families, and third world countries all around the world. That organization of course is World Vision. You’ve probably seen them on television every now and then, asking for your donation or your sponsorship. It’s a really noble cause, a noble organization, and a noble goal that they always set for themselves.
World Vision’s main saying is “Building a better world for Children”.
World Vision is a Christian relief and development organization dedicated to helping children and their communities worldwide reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty.
Dr. Bob Pierce began World Vision to help children orphaned in the Korean War.
To provide long-term, ongoing care for children in crisis, World Vision developed its first child sponsorship program in Korea in 1953. As children began to flourish through sponsorship in Korea, the program expanded into other Asian countries and eventually into Latin America, Africa, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East.
Today, monthly contributions from sponsors enable World Vision to provide impoverished children and their communities with access to clean water, nutritious food, education, health care, and economic opportunities.
You can go to The World Vision Website for more information.
I see children with so much hope in their eyes, not knowing that maybe their future isn’t so bright. Please light the way for these children, and if you can sponsor a child, then by all means do so. If you can contribute your time, then by all means do so. If you can donate your prayers, then by all means do so. You can do so much, with so little you can help.
And maybe you may not need to go to a gas station this year for a gift. How about a new tradition of gift giving by sponsoring a child. Just go to their website and see how you can help.
