I was responding to an email from a friend the other day. She wrote the email during the late evening hours. She went on about how silence has no room for her now, since her mind was scrambling to make sense of the pressures of everyday life. She finally gave in and wished that things would stay the same… It was a pretty long email, but that was the gist of her problems.

Here is my reply,

Dearest Friend,

A great number of individuals wish for a brighter day.. a better future… a better life.. but also wish for a life without change..

It is in fact the great truth of the universe, that change is inevitable.. that the universe is dynamic and always in the process of change…

But this truth should be embraced, for without change, improvements and the attainment of a higher self would not be possible.. expect change and prepare yourself for it.. because with change comes the limitless opportunities for which the goals and purpose of life will reveal themselves…

And one should not ignore silence… it is in silence that God speaks to us… in the hustle and bustle of everyday life, God yearns for an intimate moment with us… It is the ultimate gift not only to the source of life, but silence in itself brings us close to clarity and focus, it draws our mind to things unseen but are as real as air… it is in silence that the seeds of opportunities and dreams are watered…

So, in a time of chaos… look to the single Source of inspiration… plan for the future.. learn from the past… but always live in the now…
