With the break I’ve had, I realize that it’s sometimes necessary for us to get away for a while, reassess our goals, and regain our strength. Burn out is a terrible inhibitor for a creative mind, and it’s sometimes an inhibitor to having a successful life as well. I’m equally reminded, as I am a Christian, that our body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, and indeed, we should also take care of the physical health as much as we should also take care of our spiritual and mental health.

Take a little break is what my mother usually says. I tend to be a hard worker, easily caught up in what I am doing, and tend to work straight for hours on end. If I didn’t have my girlfriend calling me once in a while, I could probably work for 16 hours at a time.

Now, it’s not good for our body, and we should also realize, that on the long term, this isn’t good for our mind as well.

We need to go on a vacation to recharge ourselves, our body will thank us for it, but we will also come to the realization that our mind will thank you for it as well.

As a final thought, we can always extend vacation to also mean taking time to rest during our every day tasks as well. Eat breakfast, savor your lunch, and enjoy the company of friends and family. A good day is always one that involves nurturing our relationships as well.
