I wrote the following a few years back. Sometimes you get so scared to be rejected, that you don’t act upon what you feel in your heart.
I’ve been in love with this girl for as long as I can remember, and deep down I feel her love too.
There was this moment, when I knew that she loved me, but she never acted on it.
I never acted on it as well. Why is it so hard sometimes to convey your love to someone else? It may be a different answer for many, but for me.. it’s because of only one thing… I feel that I’m not worthy to be with her.
An angel, is what she is, and my demons I don’t want to come near her… would she understand my past, my turmoil, my agony, my thoughts?
How can she understand, if oftentimes, I don’t understand what I’m all about either?
I’ve had other relationships, and always thought, that she was not for me… how could she be for me, I feel we are so different…But, I’ve never tried, or even stepped in the ring… round one was never fought, because the towel was thrown before the fight even began… I don’t think I will ever have the courage to fight for her, when there are so many other fighters stronger than I…
So, I write this… a boxer who has never fought… love has conquered, but alas I’ve never fought…
So, don’t make my mistake… go in the ring… you’ll get hit once and a dozen more times.. you may even get knocked out…
but in the game of love, you can always keep getting up…
It’s a sad realization that you come upon, when you realize that you haven’t done all, that you wish you could’ve done. Don’t make that mistake. Step into the ring. You deserve it. Love demands it of you.

2Tisha, thanks for stopping by. Yes, that good ‘ol spam is a doozy. Glad you had the mathematical acumen to crack the code…
Thank you also, for the compliment on the composition. This was probably written during my high school days, though I’m not sure exactly when. There was no date on the piece of paper.
