Martin Accepts his OscarI didn’t get much sleep, The Academy Awards were a bit long, but I enjoyed watching it nonetheless. Here’s a brief recap as to who the major winners were.

Of course, the long overdue winner was Martin Scorsese, I was glad that he finally received his just due accolade in this niche that he has clearly owned.

The Little Matchgirl didn’t win, but that’s alright, there were so many good films competing, that it was a toss up anyway.

Some congratulations to Jennifer Hudson for winning best supporting actress, she really is an inspiration in so many ways. And Helen Mirren, who finally let go of trying too hard, and in letting go she won The Oscar…

It’s funny how life can take you to places when you just believe that you’re in a good place, and everything that you dreamed of finally materializes. I also have to admit, Helen really looked stunning, and at 61 years old, all I can say is WOW.

I’m also happy for Forest Whitaker, his performance in The Last King of Scotland was definitely deserving of The Oscar.
