I hope everyone, who’s far away from home this holiday season, keeps within himself or herself, that memory and warmth that only “home” can bring.
Here’s a great video, song, and lyrics from Fox and The Hound movie and Home by Michael Buble that has fast become one of my favorite songs.
Another summer day
Has come and gone away
In Paris and Rome
But I wanna go home
MmmmmmmmMaybe surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
I just wanna go home
Babe I miss you, you knowAnd I’ve been keeping all the letters that I wrote to you
Each one a line or two
“I’m fine baby, how are you?”
Well I would send them but I know that it’s just not enough
My words were cold and flat
And you deserve more than thatAnother aeroplane
Another sunny place
I’m lucky I know
But I wanna go home
Mmmm, I’ve got to go homeLet me go home
‘Cause I’m just too far from where you are
I wanna come homeAnd I feel just like I’m living someone else’s life
It’s like I just stepped outside
When everything was going right
And I know just why you could not
Come along with me
That this is not your dream
But you always believed in meAnother winter day has come
And gone away
In even Paris and Rome
And I wanna go home
Let me go homeAnd I’m surrounded by
A million people I
Still feel all alone
Oh, let me go home
Oh, I miss you, you knowLet me go home
I’ve had my run
Baby, I’m done
I gotta go home
Let me go home
It will all be all right
I’ll be home tonight
I’m coming back home

2[…] I honestly only thought that Michael only greeted Canada, but it looks like he’s been greeting the entire world. Here’s his quick greeting to The United States of America. Thanks Michael, I know you were talking to me… […]

3Nick I love this song too! I think we have the same taste in music.
It makes me reminisce of the days of being home with my family.

4@Joanne, thanks for stopping by.. This is actually one of my favorites, especially when I’m in a sentimental mood and reminiscing about my home and family..

5This song tares me up every time I hear it. Not just when I’m away from my family and “home” where I grew up, but moreso when I am there and I think of my ex-girlfriend - the first woman with whom I ever felt at HOME. A very touching song that captures in a few simple lyrics the pain of not being able to be where you really want to be. Willy, I just wanna be home.

6Carl (Jake),
I apologize for only seeing this comment just now…
Ahh… the ex-girlfriend.. it’s always nice to keep good friendships with your ex-girlfriend. I’ve often found that these are individuals you can develop good friendships with because they know more of us than other friends..
But, yes, for each and everyone of us, Home will always be something different, yet still the most comforting place in the world..
