We’ve all been down and out and in the course of a lifetime, we probably will be down and out more than once. Perseverance, Faith, Hope, and Passion all play a big role when it comes to succeeding in life.
The Pursuit of Happyness is a new movie starring Will Smith and his son Jaden Smith. An inspiring story that tells of a father’s love of his son and his belief in himself that he would succeed. True faith, even when the odds are against you. Despite the overwhelming circumstances.
I’ve faced challenges, but when you see a movie like this, you know and you realize that maybe your own situation isn’t so bad after all that you can’t come out a winner.
I’m always inspired by the quote of Napoleon Hill,
“Most great people have attained their greatest success just one step beyond their greatest failure.”
And in one excellent and moving scene, where the only place Will Smith’s character can find for his son and himself to sleep in is in a stall of a subway bathroom… You know that you’ve hit rock bottom…
I’m going to see this movie this weekend, but I won’t spoil it for our readers. Here’s the movie trailer… Remember, “If you want something, then go get it.. PERIOD!”

2[…] It was nice to wake up to good news that our Movie Pick for the past weekend did well in the box office. The Pursuit of Happyness won over Eragon and Charlotte’s Web. By the way, I haven’t seen Charlotte’s Web yet, but I know that our favorite talk show host Oprah did the voice of a Duck in the movie, so I figure it was also a pretty good movie. […]

3[…] And last, but not least, the movie that really inspired me this year was “The Pursuit of Happyness“, which if you’ve read my earlier post on this, you would have already known. I’m in love with this movie, not just because it’s a story of perseverance, faith, and success. But, their are literally limitless aspects to this movie that are all going on at once. You have a love story, with the father and his boy, the deep love that the father has for his child. He would do anything for his son. Then, you have a story of self motivation, in which he does everything and anything to succeed. And most of all you have a true story. You hear about bad fathers all the time, you hear about the demise of people all the time, but to have such an inspirational man stick by his son, and stick by his faith; I just don’t see how anyone could not love this movie as much as I did. 4I had seen the Hero on CNN in an interview with Glenn Beck and thought it had a good story but was probably a “CHICK FLICK” my wife brought it home and i was prepared to start watching and then go to bed. Instead i found myself engrossed in what is a great movie about leadership.
Starting with ‘race’ being conspicuously missing. I missed any reference to race. Then there is the type of leader mentioned in Jim Collins book, Good To Great. Admiral Stockdale, Congressional Medsl of Honor recipient is quoted saying, “You must always keep your eye on the prize {Stockdale was a tortured POW in Vietnam for seven years] however you must be prepared to face the COLD, HARD, FACTS it will take to get there. The hero did that. On Holy Thursday, Christ told the Apostles He was going to wash their feet, when Peter objected, Christ said to lead you must serve. Later St Paul talks about serving. the hero takes on every task thrown at him {with a smile] Remember he is in competition for ONE position, he wins. The other thing i loved was the use of our founding Fathers and the way ‘Pursuit of Happiness is brought up. I repeat, this is a great movie with a message on true Christian Leadership
