I have been reading your blog for a little bit now and I must say at first I took you as likely to be a child. Well now I take that back. Mid twenties is my guess now. So love lost… Always a touchy subject but I have to tell you that we have all both loved and lost. Many times over even. That is really the beauty of life. Breakups are always so hard a time for everyone but they truly don’t have to be. Just to have love with someone is a blessing, so it does not last forever, well neither does life on earth. The time that was spent together is remembered and cherished even. The most important thing to keep in mind in a breakup is it comes with an over abundance of creativity and the best part Finding self. I have even been acused of ending relationships to find that creativity again. Although I would not agree totally with that most of my song writing does come from breakups.

Your posts here are very inspirational and I know from your words you will find your way through this. Hopefully it was not a harsh breakup. So much is lost then in the haze of self pity and anger. That is a beautiful song to. Be well and best wishes to you.

I celebrate my youth, and I look forward to my thirties, but for now, the twenties life is such fun. The possibilities seem endless, and yet, my passion seems to just grow…

The breakup was a bit hard, I enjoyed so much with her.

Hi Nick, just to express my gratitude on your blog. I am a woman in my 30s and had my heart harshly broken for the very first time just a while ago. Reading your entry on break up helps, and I intend to keep revisiting it until I feel better. My case is different because it is a love that I wasn’t suppose to feel, a forbidden one, towards someone who did not feel the same way. The pain is overwhelming, but I am grateful that I now know what it is like to be in love, to just surrender to the feeling without reservations. Certainly I will heal in time. For now, I am going to honor this emotions of sadness, pain, hurt and rejection by just feeling them, instead of trying to pretend I am doing just fine. Thanks for the song Aubrey by Bread, it is a song that one of my wonderful nieces is named after. Kind regards, Pained

Hi Nick,

You picked a beautiful song. I have always loved Bread. There is a special feeling to their music. I want to thank you for reminding me of them. I am trying to remember the title to my favourite song by them.

You are right that a sad song is appropriate to the situation. We need to feel these emotions, as we heal. Music has a was of touching the soul and then lifting it into the air to float in sunshine, and fresh breezes.
