John Lennon of The BeatlesIn an ideal world, ice cream would be good for us, and chocolate would be a miracle drug, my parent’s wouldn’t have been divorced, and my grandmother would never have had to die. In an ideal world, John Lennon would still be alive, singing to the the tune of “Imagine”, and the song would never have to be just “Imagine”, but maybe “thank goodness”…. Like, thank goodness, there’s no countries… nothing to kill or die for… thank goodness we live in peace… and thank goodness life is like it is in my dreams…

Everyone knows who John Lennon was, his music, and his band. Yes, I said his band. Other’s may disagree that it wasn’t his band, but I think deep down we always know that it was his Beatles…

I was never really sure what to think about when he asked us to imagine if there is no heaven, because frankly I don’t wish to imagine that at all. I’m not an atheist, so why even try. Maybe, what he had in mind was the fact that so many people misuse religion for their own sick ways, cruel intentions, and prejudiced thinking…

So, on this Thursday morning, I’m enjoying my second cup of coffee as I write this little note on “Six Degrees of Inspiration”, and I am hoping that at least one person will have read this, and will have been inspired by the following words of the late - great - John Lennon, when he wrote the timeless classic of wanting peace… And so, here’s the song “Imagine”, video, lyrics, inspiration and all..

Imagine there’s no Heaven
It’s easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today

Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world

You may say that I’m a dreamer
But I’m not the only one
I hope someday you’ll join us
And the world will live as one
