Even if you’re not an NFL (National Football League) fan, there has been an inspirational story in sports this year, and it seems that America’s new home team is The New Orleans Saints. After the ravages of Hurricane Katrina, the city still in the process of rebuilding, sports fans are seeing nothing short of a miracle season with their Saints. At the start of the season, no one had them going to the playoffs let alone even having a winning record, but they have overcome the odds, revived a city in need of inspiration, and won the hearts of Americans everywhere.

And that storybook ending has not been written yet, because last night, I saw the heart of each player, as they took a close game and won 27 to 24 versus the Philadelphia Eagles. There is no lack of wonderful stories this year in the NFL, and even the losing team, The Philadelphia Eagles has had an inspirational run in the playoffs themselves.

But, the road to the Superbowl is winding down, and the greatest sporting event in the world may see the new “America’s team” come marching into Miami this coming February.
