Last year, Dick Clark was clearly fumbling with his speech, but to see Dick Clark this year is like night and day. True, he still had a bit of a problem with his speech, but I could understand him nonetheless. It’s truly inspirational to see Dick Clark defy the critics and do the New Year’s Rock and Eve. The event that bares his name, would not be the same without him…

For the naysayers who said that they didn’t want to see this legend in front of the camera because it would sadden them, I say to you… tough!

Because what I saw last night was courage, inspiration in motion, and love for the profession that he chose… As the clock struck midnight, we saw Dick’s loving wife come to his seat and they shared a loving kiss…

So, today, I wake up with a little buzz, partly because of the champagne, but mostly because of the inspirational way that 2007 chose to introduce itself to me.
