The sense of patriotism and duty to cover the elections in The Philippines is why you may have seen a lack of update with Six Degrees of Inspiration, for this I must apologize to the readers. But, hopefully this post will inspire you to also take part in your own country’s election. Maybe you are an American, and thus I hope you also take part discussing the important issues of the day. Maybe you are a Canadian, African, Iranian, Mexican, or British. Whatever or wherever your home country is, I think there is always a deep sense of patriotism in all of us.
This should not be apologized for, but it should be embraced. It is because of love of country, that we as a society accomplish so many great things. We are able to help out our fellow man by participating in our own communities, and that participation oftentimes leads to great acts of kindness, humanity, and heroism.
We are inspired by the hope of a brighter tomorrow, inspired by the courage of our fellow man to dream of a better future, and this inspiration is no better displayed than in the act of voters the world over, who cast their ballot so that they can elect leaders with strength of conviction to make their country a better place for the generations to come.
In our own country, here in The United States, we are headed to another Presidential election in 2008, and I hope, no matter what political affiliation you may have, that the greater characteristic of patriotism is within you. Be inspired and be involved, because we are not only voting for ourselves, but we are voting for the future of our children and grandchildren.
