I truly hope that Iraqis have the opportunity to read messages such as this. I am concerned as well when people mistake governments for people. This even happens with our military, who are thought of as simply mindless bots that do the bidding of our government. It's simply not the case.

Members of our military serve our country, not our government. Being a Veteran of Foreign wars, I can assure you that no one wishes for peace and an opportunity to help people more than those folks who wear the uniform.

@Doug, thank you for stopping by again and giving your thoughts. It's deeply appreciated.

You're right. I see the military men who risk their lives, and I feel their will for peace.

I was watching television the other day, and they had Iraqi children pursuing ballet despite the environment. They had Iraqi artists keeping an art gallery open.. music and singing amidst the violence.

And you can't help but feel inspired for their strength and love for their country...

I am in disagreement with Freud who has said that there is a tendency of man for war... I think there is an equal, if not, greater tendency of man to seek peace...

Coming back to your blog after quite some time. According to my Iraqi friend who's now a British citizen, the situation has gone from bad to worse and he doesn't see any hope for Iraq. All the same I truly hope that the Iraqi people learn to live together in peace.

@Adam, Welcome Back! It's nice to hear from you, and read your comment...

I've been hearing quite the same things too. "Political Solution" all too often keeps ringing loudly from the mouths of military soldiers...

I have the same hopes as you do. Darkness is not forever and the light of The Iraqi people will prevail... I'm optimistic that there will be a time where peace will find the Middle East..
