This is an eye-opening and very creative video.
Doll Face follows a machine’s struggle to construct its own identity. The machine with a doll face mimics images presented on a television screen and ultimately self-destructs from its inability to adopt a satisfactory visage. Created in its entirety by Andy Huang, Doll Face presents a visual account of desires misplaced and identities fractured by our technological extension into the future.
In an age where we are bombarded by media, it’s something to think about, that all of a sudden, we need media to tell us what beauty is. We need the outside world to define beauty. It reminds me of the Dove television advertisement that we wrote about a few days back.
Do we need to self destruct to realize that we ourselves define beauty? Lipstick will not do it, but the beauty of your soul that radiates outward is the one true definition of beauty.
